Behind Generative AI for Good Initiative
Shiran Mlamdovsky Somech is an entrepreneur and innovator at the intersection of generative AI and social impact. She is the Founder & CEO of Generative AI for Good, an impact company that develops AI-powered initiatives to amplify silenced voices, turning emerging technology into a force for human dignity.
Her flagship initiative, Hearing Their Voices, uses AI avatars and voice technology to safely preserve and share testimonies of survivors of conflict-related sexual violence; from Iran, Israel (October 7th), Syria, Ukraine, Iraq, and beyond. Launched at the United Nations, the project won the inaugural SIMA Impact AI Award.
Shiran's broader body of work spans multiple AI-for-good campaigns reaching over 60 million views globally, including Listen to My Voice (2021) - one of the earliest GenAI campaigns for social impact, developed in collaboration with leading organizations including March of the Living and UN Women, and companies including Meta, Microsoft, and ElevenLabs. She is a recipient of the Trailblazer "Following Her" Award (2025).
Shiran holds an EMBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and combined LLB/LLM degrees from Bar-Ilan University. Her work has been presented at the UN, NATO, UN Women, IHRA, March of the Living, and additional international forums.
She believes the most powerful thing AI can do is make us more human - and lives by four words: Dream. Dare. Do. Disrupt.
